Equine Physiotherapy

Signs that your horse might need physiotherapy:

  • Performance loss

  • Resistance to being tacked up

  • Resistance while being ridden (e.g. bucking/rearing)

  • Lameness

  • Stiffness or favouring one rein

  • Uneven wearing of shoes

  • Changes in behaviour

  • Poor posture

  • Recovering from illness, injury or surgery

 

Common conditions:

  • Gait abnormalities

  • Soft tissue injuries – muscles, tendons and ligaments

  • Joint problems such as osteoarthritis

  • Nerve damage

  • Fractures

  • Rehabilitation after surgery

  • Neck, back and pelvis pain

  • Inflammation

  • Muscle asymmetry
